HC4A is a non-denominational charity founded on two ideas and gives an opportunity to:1.Selfless Giving - to give without expecting a return2.Our success should also be used to improve the lives of those who are not that fortunate.Mission: To help with education of students who are economically disadvantaged, particularly those experiencing homelessness so that they can have better livesProjects (Austin metro area students):Provide tools for their education - specifically, with annual donation of school supplies. Both Indian and Jewish communities are working together to meet this goal with an annual fundraiser, Bollywood Meets Borscht Belt at Dell Jewish Community Campus where 100% of donation are applied to procure school supplies. Most of the resources and services are selflessly donated. To date, over $46,000 in school supplies has been donated through 2014 with beneficiaries being the following ISDs: Round Rock, Austin, Bastrop, Leander, Manor and Del Vale. To encourage volunteerism, people from various communities and of all ages come to help pack school supplies in August of each year at Dell Jewish Community Campus.Vocational Training Tuition Memorial Scholarships in denomination $500 or $1,000. To this end, annual fundraiser, Diwali GivingFest was launched in 2013. In 2014, $20,000 was awarded in scholarships administered by Austin Community College, Capital Idea and Manor ISD. The fundraising efforts of 2014 will probably exceed that of 2013 for scholarship award scheduled for 2015. All donations received go toward school supplies, with most resources and services selflessly donated. The fundraisers promote cultural exchange with local performing arts artists who donate their time toward this cause. The fundraisers also promote volunteerism, to date for all over events, almost 650 volunteers have participated for the events.
