1/12/1955Pandit Baburao Vishnu Paradkar, eminent Hindi editor and veteran journalist, passed away.
4/3/1978Pandit Hridaynath Kunzru, social reformer, politician, passed away. He contributed greatly to public life, fighting against caste system, untouchability etc. He was closely affiliated to the 'Servants of India Society' with Ghokhaleji. He even declined to accept the ""Bharat Ratna"" award conferred on him.

At this time, it possessed six fighter squadrons of Spitfires, Vampires and Tempests, operating from Kanpur, Poona, Ambala and Palam, one B-24 bomber squadron, one C-47 Dakota transport squadron, one AOP flight, a communications squadron at Palam and a growing training organisation.
3/21/1966Indian Remote Sensing Satellite (IRS-P3) placed into polar orbit. This carries remote sensing payload and an X-ray astronomy payload. Launched by third developmental flight of India's Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV-D3) which is for launching 1,000-1,200 kg class of remote sensing satellites into polar sun-synchronous orbit. Still in service.
