SAPTAVARNA
Saptavarna is conceptualized and choreographed by Aruna Mohanty which comprises of Major classical dance forms of India. Each classical dance form is choreographed and going to be presented by eminent artists in their respective forms.
aptavarna or seven shades of dance incorporates 20 accomplished dancers from abroad and the US. The presentation includes two segments. First is 'Sooryasnata', the aura of resplendent Surya. The second segment presents 'Gitamahatmyam', the journey of life. Gitamahatmyam is conceptualized by Aruna Mohanty & "KALAVARDHINI", a study group created by the disciples of Swami Dayananda Saraswati.
Sooryasnata : The Bhavishya Purana says "Because there is none greater that the Surya, nor has been, nor will be, therefore he is celebrated as the supreme soul in all the Vedas."'Surya' the name by which the Deity Sun is commonly addressed in the Vedic hymns, is also known as Dinakara; the maker of the day, Bhaskara; the creator of light and Vivasvat; the radiant one.
Gitamahatmyam : The Bhagavad Gita goes by many names - a book, a text, an epic, a scripture. In a day and age when we are battling with our own existential crises, the Bhagavad Gita brings us age-old, yet, timeless lessons simplified through the words of Krishna
This production has a pan-Indian, multicultural, multilingual approach, and amalgamation of different genres of music, costumes, lights and set design, which serve as a sensory delight - transcending the audience to a different realm.
